Appearance

Pre-patinated copper gives the work the colour of aged copper from day one. This allows, if you wish, to give colour continuity on the different parts of the building so that the roof, facade, false ceilings and interiors have the same look.

One of the most attractive aspects of this material is each sheet of metal's individuality, giving a unique texture to the panelling, providing additional interest to the work. This aspect of the material is particularly noticeable on facades and contrasts with painted metal facades that lack character or interest.

The TECU® Patina pre-patinated copper that we use has a layer of real patina on one of its sides, similar to what copper naturally develops after 20 years or more. It is patinated in the factory, in a controlled environment.

The surface is quite delicate at the start and relatively easy to damage, and repairs are not always easy to make. Special precautions must be taken to obtain the best results. Quinta Metálica has installed tens of thousands of square metres of this product, on roofs, facades and indoors and has become extremely familiar with its peculiarities. Our operators take special care with the material at all installation phases, from unloading the folded material on site when it arrives from our workshop, protecting material that has already been fitted, to the last finish. Consequently (among other reasons) the manufacturer of this material, KME, has awarded Quinta Metálica the title of ‘TECU® Partner’, in recognition of our work. At the time of writing, Quinta Metálica is the only TECU® Partner on the Iberian Peninsula.

This material should not be confused with copper patinated on site after fitting. This solution does not normally give a long-lasting and satisfactory result and Quinta Metálica does not use this solution.

It is important to be aware of the colours of these materials when selecting other materials and finishes / colours (stone, lacquered woodwork, etc.) for the work so we recommend that you contact us to request new samples or even better, request a visit from our technical consultant so you can be shown new samples and samples that have been aged by exposure for these materials.

For more information on the different finishes available in copper, please take a look at the other files on our metals.

The price of this material is somewhat higher than for natural copper and so it is advisable to get a quote from Quinta Metálica for the project in question to avoid any surprises during the tender process.
